Riley Keough is best known as Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter, but the actress also had one of the most famous people in the world as her stepfather.
It was none other than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, as Keough’s mother was married to the ‘Beat It’ singer from 1994 to 1996.
Lisa Marie Presley was also Elvis Presley’s eldest grandchild – talk about a star-studded family.
But Keough recently admitted that she had no idea about the shocking claims made against her stepfather while growing up.
The 35-year-old called her childhood ‘chaotic’ with having Presley as her mother, and has been thinking a lot about the late artist following the release of her posthumous memoir, titled From Here to the Great Unknown.
Keough helped to finish the title, and is still reflecting on her mum’s life, where she left Danny Keough and married MJ just 20 days after her divorce was finalised.
Jackson started to face child sexual abuse allegations in 1993, a year prior to the marriage, and Keough admitted that she had no idea about it as a young child.
She explained on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “I was never told anything. And it’s not something I ever asked as an adult… I think it just was what it was, it just never came to mind.”
“The way my parents parented was very much like, we don’t fight around the kids, we don’t say anything around them,” the Daisy Jones & The Six actress recalled.

Keough emphasised: “We didn’t know anything, we didn’t know about the allegations, we had no awareness of that.”
“The one thing I know is that they were in love, and that their love for one another was genuine, because I was there, and I remember,” she said about her mother’s marriage to the pop star on the podcast.
Keough also opened up about how their lives were, even prior to the high-profile marriage, explaining to host Alex Cooper: “She (her mother) was extremely private, she hated talking to the press, she didn’t want to be famous, she was born into a situation she really didn’t enjoy and growing up in the world we grew up in was very private, very secretive, everything was a security issue.
“It was just a lot of high security, for going somewhere it was lots of people following us, and very intense and chaotic,” she said.
When Jackson came into their lives, Keough said that the biggest change was ‘things that he had that she didn’t have,’ such as him having his own plane.

Keough’s mother would then want to have her own plane, as their life ‘got bigger’.
“Because before that she was with my dad, and their life was very simple – not with the press and the craziness – but in terms of at home, she didn’t have ten million assistants, she didn’t need all that, and I think that changed,” the actress revealed.
Speaking about the ‘extravagant’ things that MJ would do for her and her brother, she recalled ‘a lot of closing down things’ for them, such as toy stores.
She added: “I don’t know if it was necessarily done for us or just for our family situation where we had to shut the toy stores and stuff.”
